To safe a dashboard as a favourite:

First open the relevant dashboard by using the Dashboard Explorer.

Then click the "Add to favourites" button in the header of the dashboard.
You can then see from the filled star whether a currently open dashboard is marked as a favourite.
To remove it from the favourites, click the button again.
